Delete your account
Last updated: 26 August 2026
You can ask us to delete your MobilityPulse account and the personal data associated with it at any time. You do not need to give a reason, and deleting carries no penalty — taking part in the study is voluntary throughout.
This page sets out what happens when you ask. It restates sections 13 and 14 of the Privacy Policy and adds nothing to them.
How to request deletion
Email support@mobilitypulse.ae from the address you registered with, asking us to delete your account.
If you can still sign in, you can also start the request in the app: My Profile, then Danger Zone. Both routes reach the same team.
We may need to verify your identity before acting, so that nobody else can delete your account. If you write from a different address, expect us to ask.
What gets deleted
Your account and the personal data associated with it:
- Your profile — name, email address and account credentials.
- Your trips, including their routes, times, distances, modes and any details you added.
- Your vehicles.
- Your demographic and household answers.
- Your activity log.
- Your reward and check-in records.
What we cannot delete, and why
- De-identified data already incorporated into research analyses or published results cannot be withdrawn. Once it can no longer be linked to you it cannot be found in order to remove it, and research integrity requires that published findings stay reproducible.
- We may keep limited records for longer where security, audit or a legal obligation requires it.
Everything else goes.
How long it takes
We respond within a reasonable period, and in any event within the time limit set by applicable law. In practice we aim to confirm your request within a few working days and to complete the deletion shortly after.
We will write to you when it is done.
Deleting is not the same as deactivating
The app also offers Deactivate account, which is a different thing and easier to undo. Deactivating disables your account and stops tracking, but your records are kept — useful if you want to pause rather than leave.
Deleting removes the data. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore a deleted account if you change your mind.
If you only want to stop tracking
You do not have to delete your account to stop the app recording trips. Revoking the location permission in your device settings stops automatic detection immediately, and the rest of the app keeps working.
If you would rather withdraw from the study but leave your data with us, say so in your email and we will treat it as withdrawing consent to any further collection.
